Green Set Initiative
Grants for green sets
Nature's Negotiators supports low-budget film and television projects that want to go green! We know it can be daunting to figure out how to implement green initiatives on set... and you may be concerned that it will cost additional monies... but we have found it actually SAVES MONEY and we have support in place that makes it EASIER than traditional methods!
With crafty and catering alone switching to reusable water and coffee bottles, implementing composting and recycling, using thrifted dish and flatware, ordering compostable paper products and moving away from individually wrapped items can redress the 240 tons of waste traditionally generated on a single film set!
Switching to electric vehicles, rear-projection driving studios and reusable batteries can cut down on the reality that a single blockbuster production can generate over 3,300 metric tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to the annual energy usage of 656 homes.
We offer two mini-grants annually ($500 each) to offset your costs for green initiatives on low-budget sets:
We offer free support packages to anyone within driving distance of our Los Angeles location!
This includes a water cooler, a set of metal water bottles, plates, flatware and more! Just pick them up and return them to us when you are done!
We also have created a packet with resources and suggestions!
These make it easy to order everything you need to change the way we all do business! We also have created a coop of vendors that are willing to provide sliding-scale pricing to low budget projects...imagine catering that is cheaper than ordering fast food for your crew! Contact us here to have that sent your way!
a comedic web series sponsored by Nature's Negotiators as one of our fundraising initiatives, was the pilot project for our Green Set Initiative. Generating just 1/4 bag of trash over the course of an 8-day shoot, this project proves that low-budget films can go green and actually save money!
was the first low-budget project to receive our $500 Green Set Initiative Grant!
